Not quiet speed riding but the guys were using parachute to slow down and control decent speed.

By drawing on detailed knowledge of the geographical area of Mt Everest, the surrounding Sherpa lands, and skills learnt in both disciplines the adventure has been brought to fruition after two years of meticulous planning and preparation.

After reading the pdf info document found on the website
The opening altitudes for their main parachute will be between 16,000ft and 18,000ft AMSL.
The main landing area (DZ) is at 12,350ft AMSL.
These altitudes demand large main parachutes of 300 - 400 sq ft which are around 27m² - 37m²
