Dear all, I am a novice to this sport and weigh around 45 kilos. Can anyone recommend a glider that has more "glide" than "ride?" Preferably not to expensive. I saw the firebird trainer but...its for ground handling only. considering that, will i fly If I run as hard as I can? Does it have a good glide? I know the best glide thing already exists in the forum, but since i'm under normal weight range i wanted to ask about gliders for my weight. I heard of the nerevous swoop, and thought.. wait a moment could their be a cheaper one around? I also don't want to go too fast, i mean 40 kmh is enough for me. I was also considering the gin yeti paraglider...but then again, which sport, speed or gliding? Does anyone know which harness would be gut? maybe the gin yeti harness. convertible harness/bag thing? It would be great if someone could help me out! thanx- Tino

Possibly it's because nobody on the forum has flown a Firebird as a Speedglider so can't comment on it's performance and if it will work for you. Rider weight and wing loading has a big effect on your speed and how the glider flies. So if worried about speed (not more than 40kmh) then maybe Paragliding is a better option as you mentioned in your original post?

Which ever your choice there is no cheap option.
