If possible I would love to know how much it would cost an experienced skier to go from a none parasailing background to speed-flying, watching the videos I have seen I have not been as excited and enthused about anything in my entire life. I only wish I would have learned about this
sooner. So maybe how much it typically costs and where you would start.

    Thanks a lot!

    Hi Joshua

    Thanks for contacting Speed-Flying.com

Difficult to give an exact price - where are you located?
If for example in UK a paragliding course up to Club Pilot standard will cost around £1000. Not sure about else where but guess similar price.

It is possible to learn with a recognized instructor/school with no paragliding knowledge but you would need to check with the school. A few countries are more strict and Require that you have a full paragliding license first. This is the case with Switzerland.

See our guidelines section (http://www.speed-flying.com/speed-flying-guidelines) and look at the Schools/Instructors Index and see if there is one near to you.

Third option - teach yourself - it is possible but this is NOT an option for everyone. Very high risk of serious injury or Death if/when things go wrong.

Equipment for speed-flying - you would be looking around £1500 if buying new kit. Glider size nothing smaller than 12m if light weight normal starting size 13-14m depending on weight.

But before going further have you read this article posted on Speedflying Interlaken (http://spi.speedflying-interlaken.ch/index.php?option=com_content&view=section&layout=blog&id=1&Itemid=60) website?
